Workshops & Retreats

My philosophy in any group setting is to provide a space for participants to hear their own voice, freedom to share (or not share) their discoveries, and the gift of time to reflect on their journey. The works of Parker Palmer, Mark Nepo, Rachel Naomi Remen, Priya Parker, and John Fox are just five influences on why I value the need to create safe, sacred space in group settings. I believe we have much to offer each other when we listen intentionally and gently.

She facilitated spiritual skills groups as part of her fellowship for those living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) at the VA Portland Health Care System (formerly Portland Veterans Administration Medical Center,) as part of Erin Leichty’s artist, writers, healers exhibition, “Re-Connection” at Waterstone Gallery (Reconnecting with Joy and Beauty After Loss) and currently is a Portland Women Writers facilitator.

Workshops and retreats offered through Nurture Your Journey (both in-person and online) have included: Listening to Loss: A Labyrinth & Writing Workshop, Honoring Grief During The Holidays, Recognizing & Honoring Life Transitions, Journey Through Grief and Loss, Voicing Our Deepest Sorrows: The Gift of Lament in 2020, and The Hidden Beauty of Grief.

A Community Experience

In a shift in approach, Anne will now offer her workshops and retreats by invitation. “By invitation” means you connect with Anne about your interest in gathering your community together to journey with Grief, loss, or other areas of her expertise and invite her into your community. Perhaps utilizing one of the workshops/retreats she has already offered or creating something new.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Are you a group that is looking to gather for an afternoon, full day, weekend and have a topic or idea that needs a facilitator?

  • Maybe you’re small community that recently experienced a loss and you want to come together and learn more about Grief and reflect on how it is impacting your collective experience.

  • Or perhaps you are friends who are approaching menopause or other often neglected life passages and want to explore those together using ritual and ceremony, the labyrinth, writing and need someone skilled in creating a container.

  • A workshop on walking labyrinths might intrigue you.

  • Or you and a co-worker are interested in how labyrinths can help with relaxation. Or integrate you back into on-site work after working at home. Or…

There are many possibilities. Invite me to come alongside you. To create and facilitate a workshop or retreat…that would be an honor.

Workshops and retreats utilize creative ways to engage the quiet inner self, including use of Anne’s 22’ modified Chartres Labyrinth (canvas), reflective writing, visual art or other reflective means. They can be done in-person or via Zoom or other online platforms.Your community may be your friends, family, neighbors, worship community, fellow employees or volunteers. You define the “who.”

Curious? Reach out and see what unfolds.

As a Certified Labyrinth Facilitator, Anne can offer her expertise as either a part of a larger event or for a labyrinth education/experiential focused event. Head over to her Labyrinth page to find out more.

She is also open to collaborating with other workshop and retreat creators. Please contact her if this interests you.
